What is it like to work at Loy Surveys?

Who will I be working with?

You will be working with a dedicated team of surveying professionals and support staff.

Is there variety in the work?

Most definitely. You could be working on an airport project, a rail based project, a harbour development or in a school or hospital and that’s just some of the surveys we undertake.

Who reports to the customers?

We find that by appointing a Land Surveyor to each customer we are able to offer the highest levels of service to our customers. Through this approach we can maintain our quality aspirations and best fulfil their requirements.

What about the equipment I’ll be working with?

The very latest. Our investment in technology means our surveyors use robotic equipment, which can be manned by one person. Lack of investment in this equipment, or perhaps just a reluctance to change on the part of others hands us a competitive advantage.

Will I have my own computer or will I have to share?

All our surveyors are issued with individual laptop computers allowing them to operate more efficiently in

the field and not have to be constantly running back to the office to input at an office based terminal.

What are the working hours?

Loy Surveys operate a flexible working system, which allows some freedom in working pattern and provides incentive rewards based on results achieved.

Will I get to travel?

We expect our surveyors to go wherever the jobs are and as we work throughout Scotland, the UK and sometimes overseas there will be travel involved.

What about training?

As well as a personal training and development program you will find the other staff keen and willing to pass on their experience.

Is transport supplied?

Yes, where the position calls for it. Here we run a flexible policy. Either a company vehicle can be supplied or alternatively we will pay a mileage allowance to employees using their own vehicle.
