A word of advice
Most problems can be avoided and those that do can be resolved before they escalate. Always engage the professional services of a Chartered Land Surveyor when dealing with land title plans
Boundary Disputes
Loy Surveys have acted in a number of cases including some which have gone to court.
Good technical evidence is essential in these cases. We generally act only in business to business boundary disputes or if domestic we recommend the client appoints their solicitors to instruct us
We start by preparing the following overlays for comparison;
1. Both existing title plans
2. Current Ordnance Survey digital mapping covering both titles
3. Physical survey on site of both titles
Once we have gathered the facts it is surprising how often if turns out to be difficult to determine boundaries due to mostly to poorly prepared original title plans. Disputes within 1m may be difficult to prove either way due to this.
